Banned Items!

Hello,

As some of you may know today a lot of people got griefed with destruction catalysts, nova bombs, etc. Well today I banned a few items and added a few features to our wonderful server. The new features are as follows:

- Added [Improvement on how fast the server runs.]
- Added [New faction options.]
- Added [Forestry, Buildcraft, Computercraft, Redpower, and Industrialcraft can now build on faction land!]

Some features/Items have been taken away due to abuse. Mainly griefing. The list is as follows:

If you know of any other item that could be used for griefing please leave a reply in this thread or make a new forum post in the "Important Announcements & Updates" section! Also if you feel an item should be unbanned speak your word and leave a reply in this thread!

Hello I am currently a member of this server and i love the server and the way you did what you did and I like everything about the server exept a few items that i can't craft (I don't know if these are banned since the list isn't that updated, but i can't craft it and I am using the right recipe). The item I am asking to get unbanned is the alchemy chest, I need it for the alchemy bag so I can make my house further away from spawn and I really don't see how it is that bad. I mean it can't be used for greiving unless I don't see something that you do, but I took the time to get stuff needed for the chest and bag (though i'm not saying " unban it because I wasted stuff for it.") and I hope you understand
I also think not sure but think that equivelent exange is disabled or that's what my friend told me and I don't know if it is or not so please enable it I know what it can be used for and even the bad stuff but all I can say to that is make a faction and claim land if your worried about greivers.
Also this is a short sentence saying is jetpacks are disabled enable them please.

the banned list isnt updated that much because tekkit has alot of glitches i am very good in finding those and ian is concerned that maybe i dont find them so hes taking precausions this includes the alchemy chest and energy condensers items will keep getting banned no way u can stop that unless we just take out tekkit wich i dont think u want all in all u cant place items cuz they are banned if u want to make something and u have a suspicion that it is banned be sure to ask staff otherwise think logic Smile

Alchemical Chest: I have no idea why alchemy chests are banned, but I informed Ian about a duplication bug with the alchemical chests.

Jetpack: Im pretty sure jetpacks aren't disabled.

Equivalent Exchange: Not disabled.

Er, recently the Alchemy Bag was unbanned but the Alchemy chest remains banned. Despite the fact that alchemy chest is needed to make an alchemy bag.

Perhaps this list should be updated? It's a few months old.

Also, if you can disable the right-click functions of DM and RM tools (the biggest griefing part of them) why can't you disable the right-click functions of the Red Katar and Red Morningstar and have them allowed? I would love to use those tools.

Also, IMHO the Red Katar should not have any of its abilities banned. They are not that destructive and they are the following:

AoE attack
Till all dirt in an area
Shear animals while cloning them
Destroy an entire tree in one hit
Destroy all leaves in an area

Not many people build with dirt, logs or leaves. And when they do, it's not the whole structure. I don't see how cloning animals is bad, in fact, it is balanced considering how much RM you spend to make the Red Katar.

So yea, un-ban Red Katar please?

red katar is not gnna be unbanned just because of its destroying abilities on forests and it can till dirt in spawn and make it look ugly its not *just some stuff* anything grief able we try to prevent

Two things me and my brother noticed. The first one was funny.

Energy collectors are banned, yet my brother saw them in the mall. I saw them too. lolwut?

Also, I searched up the alchemy chest dupe glitch. It requires 2 people and the placement of the chest. Well, I think some item blocking plugins can block certain parts of an item. Either crafting it, placing it etc.

Just ban placement of alchemy chests to stop the dupe glitch and still allow us access to alchemy bags! Done!

Also, I noticed some people were still able to make and place alchemy chests. This has some evidence. When I was camping out at one of the CoalMinerZ bases, a moderator or someone blew the whole place sky-high to reveal their chest room (which they had turned into a make-shift bunker) It was lined with alchemy chests. An admin (I think sheepluver or alekz, can't remember) started looking at that. When I came over to loot the chests he shooed me off saying I shouldn't be here at the moment. I left as instructed.

Also, I found the LEGI0N base and raided it with my brother once it was disbanded for inactivity. Alekz was there too, he was watching. Me and my brother found 6 alchemy chests in their chest room.

Something wrong with some of the bans? Or just really out-dated list?

I heard transmutation tablets were recently disabled to an extent. I can't use EMC in Klein Stars. Also, I can't put an item in the middle of the right circle. That means I can't choose which items I want to make.

Are wooden slabs banned? I went to make some last night (wanted some ties. I have an extreme amount of creosote oil. Might as well use some) and they wouldn't let me craft them.

No they are not banned, could explain if something said a message, or did it disappear? Did your items disappear? They only thing I could imagine is Railcraft crashing upon start. I will look into this issue.

When I tried to craft them the other night I placed them into a project table. I shift clicked to craft alot. I got 40. They then disappeared when I clicked on them and my wood re-appeared in the project table. I tried to craft the slabs again and again. I tried about 3 times and gave up. There wasn't much I could change about what I was doing. I could craft other things like dye normal though.

Try a default table? I know there is some crafting issues on the server and I don't know why.

I just realized that the right-click functions of the RM and DM tools are disabled to prevent griefing. Why can't we have this with the RM and DM Hammer? I would like to use them. It's somewhat similar to price compared to the pickaxes but destroys more with less precision. If right-click is disabled it can't grief spawn either.

Win-win!

I believe in diversity in choices. So far, for mining stone there are only the drills, vanilla picks and EE2 picks. Moar choices!

I think the CF sprayer is banned (unintentionally?) because I set-up a wall with scaffolds to use my sprayer on and the server kicked me for using my CF sprayer.

Okay, I don't do survival on our server and if I did I wouldn't see what is banned. Tell me what is banned that you think shouldn't be. (Crafting, placement, etc.) And report back and I will look into this and see if I can fix this, and do books + slabs still have a problem? Hopefully 1.4.5 comes out soon and I can just update and fix all these issues like the iron shovel crash glitch.

This was unbanned. Divine towers is a really cool build!

I have 2 machines I just thought of that might require banning. They are high-tech ones so it takes some work to obtain them however.

The first one is the Terraformer. It can modify a 128x128 area with the programmed TFBP. I haven't seen it's use yet, however it could be used to grief areas with the flatification program or the snow program. The mushroom program can place large amounts of mushrooms and mycellium which can invade areas and turn them into mushroom biomes basically.

The second machine, or more specifically upgrade, is the forcefield block cutter upgrade. It allows a forcefield to 'cut' (destroy) any blocks it touches. A forcefield can be placed into protected areas and the cutter upgrade can be used to destroy blocks in the area. With usage of the projectors, this can lead to some griefing of fairly large sized areas.
However, since forcefields are very powerful tools in defense, they should be allowed. Only the block cutter upgrade should be banned. It's a block, not an item.

Thank you very much for your suggestions! The terraformer upgrades were banned of use, also the entire forcefield mod was removed because of bad coding, dupes, and other junk. Again thank you for pointing that out and was greatly appreciated! If you would like to add anything else it is welcomed!
